A big congratulation goes out to Oliver Gibson, Paul Watson and Daniel Olesker, for successfully qualifying as Level 1 UK Martial Arts Instructors, the highest award one can receive with regards coaching in the martial arts.
Over this period of time Oliver,Paul and Daniel were involved in the training and development of a diverse range of students, which included 6 year old children right through to adults. These students also had varying abilities I.e. new beginners to more senior grades such as black belts.
During this time they demonstrated and taught techniques as diverse as Kihon (basic blocking, punching, and stances), Kata (a set of movements which have to be completed to a correct pattern or form), Jiyu Kumite (free fighting or sparing).
On a personal note sensei Paul Gibson said “The guys have all worked extremely hard over this period and as time has gone by Oliver, Paul and Daniel have developed their own teaching style and are now a valuable asset to my team”.
I feel that the Martial Arts Instructor award is an important part of their development and will enhance their status at Garforth and Mirfield Shukokai Karate Club.
Once again well done!
Sensei
